Check out the latest leak from Must Volkoff’s upcoming Aquanaut album. Featuring EatGood founder and all round legit baller, SonnyJim, Psychedelic Purple is one in a long list of sure to be dope tracks from the LP. Other features include Mongo, Joker Starr, Mnsr Frites, Jehst and Chester P, alongside many more dope artists, so definitely one to check when it drops on 26 May on Pang Productions. Pre-orders are available here.

Pleased to see the arrival of the next video from Booda French’s upcoming album, 6am Coffee Club. It marks a change in gear for the Ipswich MC, as he departs from more traditional hip hop production. I’ve listened to the project a few times and I am definitely a fan. Always keen to hear talented artists step outside their comfort zones and push their creativity into new challenges. Astronauts is produced by Yanaku and pre-orders for the album are available here. 6am Coffee Club is out on EatGood Records on 2 May.

SonnyJim made an appearance on Brapp TV this week, as he delivered a performance of one of the tracks from his critically acclaimed Mud in my Malbec LP. $cramble is produced by Ayepee and features Da$h on the original album version. I recently interviewed Sonny for Brapp, which you can read here.

New video from SonnyJim and his excellent Mud in my Malbec LP. This time it’s one of my favourites from the album, Dorchester featuring the inimitable Quelle Chris. Great animation style in the video too, courtesy of Ewen Farr, who reinterprets a classic Pulp Fiction scene. It was premiered over on Pigeons & Planes on Wednesday.

I like to think I have my finger relatively on the pulse when it comes to UK rap, but a few releases somehow pass me by, like this new LP from SonnyJim & Sleaze. This is the follow up to their 2011 Work in Mnemonics EP. Sleaze is sadly residing at Her Majesty’s pleasure at the moment, but Sonny had made a promise that this project would see the light of day and he stuck to his word. Read the rest of this entry »

Booda French is a name that should be familiar to anyone who has followed the UK hip hop scene over the past few years. From his early days battling under the name Truth, to a string of stellar independent releases and a close affiliation with EatGood, he is now back with a brand new EP on Soulspazm Records. I spoke with him about reaching full potential, his friendship with J57 and what it was like coming up in Ipswich. Read the rest of this entry »

Another great offering from Booda French, lifted from what promises to be a great LP. Dead Already features fellow Ipswich resident, Nee-Hi, as well as a strong beat from Porchy. You can cop a free download over at the EatGood Bandcamp and watch out for the full project, 6AM Coffee Club, coming soon.

Another impressive leak from the new SonnyJim album, as he teams up with Queens native & Das Racist alumni, Heems. Al Jazeera premiered on The Fader earlier this week and seems to have gone down well on both sides of the Atlantic. Just about to get my first listen of the Mud in my Malbec LP, so expect to hear more on that from me very soon.

As you will be aware the hotly anticipated album from SonnyJim is due out at the end of this month and to keep fiends like me satisfied in the meantime, Nah Right premiered two tracks at the weekend. Read the rest of this entry »

Our only legit baller rapper has been relatively quiet over the past couple of years, in contrast to the prolific years that saw him and the whole EatGood roster knock out solid release after solid release. This hiatus is now officially over though, as the announcement that SonnyJim’s long awaited Mud in my Malbec LP will finally be released at the end of this month. Read the rest of this entry »
