High Focus Summer Block Party: Review

It was already in the mid-20’s when I rolled down to this year’s High Focus Block Party in Bristol and it was only going to get hotter, given the days running up to the event. Last year’s party had been a smash and this year looked set to at least rival it, if not surpass it. Doors opened at 2pm so I got down there at about 3pm and already had to deal with the huge queue that had formed; a teeming mass of the new generation of UK hip hop fans all fully loyal to the HF brand (and all of whom I’m pretty sure I was old enough to be their dad).

Dutch Mob: Little Brother

Another great track from the Dutch Mob EP that was released back in April. Little Brother sees Res on a solo tip, giving some words of advice to one of his youngers. Great concept and a wicked video from This & That Media, who are going from strength to strength with each new release. The track was produced by Illinformed. Dutch Mob ft. Ed O.G: One Percent + EP News

Big tune from the Dutch Mob boys as they celebrate the release of their long awaited Passport EP, with this slick new video for One Percent. Featuring Boston rap veteran, Ed O.G, One Percent is produced by Illinformed, with Chris Lucas (Arun Productions) behind the camera. It’s good to finally see the EP reach the masses. I know how much work has gone into it and they have taken their time to make sure everything was on point. It’s worked a treat.

Dutch Mob: Rolls Canardly

Pleased to see the arrival of the fifth video from Dutch Mob and also the announcement of a release date for their long awaited passport EP. It’s a solo effort from Mistafire on Rolls Canardly, in which he tears the mic a new one with a blistering flow. Wicked beat from Illinformed and a great video too, courtesy of This & That Media.

Bristol out in full force on the new track from Dutch Mob. Mistafire & Res One enlist Jman and Datkid to bring extra heat to this already scolding beat from Illinformed. The Passport EP is due out soon, more news on that later.

Intriguing musical developments in Bristol as two of our finest join forces to form Dutch Mob. Res One from Split Prophets and Mistafire from Se Fire have been pouring their souls into the local scene and beyond for years, and now the duo have decided to combine their talents for an EP which will be dropping on Split Prophets Records soon.
