Datkid x Baileys Brown: Grubby Mits (Stream)

More music from Baileys Brown and this time a reunion of sorts, as he joins forces with Datkid once again for a new EP. Grubby Mits follows in the footsteps of joints like Teeth Ledger and the pivotal, Home By 8, which was the release that first brought Datkid to the attention of many UK rap fans. On this new EP, the duo are joined by some familiar names, including Datty’s SP affiliate, Flying Monk, who drops in on Better Than The Rest, alongside fellow Bristol rap advocate, Draper. There is also a Blah link up courtesy of Stinkin Slumrok, on the closing track, Yeah Right. You can hear the EP in full for yourself below, with downloads available via Bandcamp.

Datkid & Leaf Dog: Crud Addict

This week High Focus announced that their latest signing to the label is Datkid, followed quickly by news of an album between him and Leaf Dog. The Demorus MC has been steadily building his rep for years and is widely regarded as one of the best MCs in the country, so HF seems like a good home for him.
Crud Addict is the first taste of the album and features a slick video shot on location in NY by Craig Capone. The Confessions of a Crudlord LP is due for release shortly. Stay tuned for more news on that soon.

Datkid X Baileys Brown: Teeth Ledger

The long awaited, much anticipated second solo album from Datkid was finally released today. Once again he’s drafted in Baileys Brown to handle the production, following in the confident footsteps of his first solo album, Home By 8.
Pleased to report that the follow up surpasses it’s predecessor, with the same amount of rugged wordplay that made Datkid a firm favourite on the UK circuit. There is an additional level of maturity too as the now London-based MC reflects on his life up to this point. Continue reading “Datkid X Baileys Brown: Teeth Ledger”

Datkid: It’s Real

Check out the latest video to be released from the upcoming Datkid album, Teeth Ledger. It’s Real is a reminder of why there is so much anticipation for this album, as Datty and Baileys Brown seem to be able to make nothing but bangers when they get together. No release date yet, but it will not be long now. Shouts to Sektion Red on the video.

Datkid: Honey I’m Home

One of the more anticipated UK rap albums of the last few years is finally ready to make its entrance. Datkid’s Teeth Ledger album has been brewing for a while and now at last we have the first video. Honey I’m Home is produced by Baileys Brown, who handles all the beats on the album. The video was shot by This & That Media. No news on an exact release date yet, but stay tuned for more info coming soon.

D£DW8: DEDDUBZ001_

More rugged styles from the D£DW8 lot as they drop a little exclusive. Bewbonik and Dee Green on the raps, with Ivylab on the beat.
The D£DW8 album, 21G$ is due out on Bandcamp this week and the boys are going to be doing a rare live set in Bristol on 30 September, so come to that if you’re in the area.

D£DW8 ft. Datkid: Rah

The debut album from D£DW8 is due out on Monday and trust me, it is worth the hype. As if we needed reminding of the potential dope we’re going to be exposed to, Baileys Brown and Bewbonik dropped a little non-album exclusive yesterday, featuring Split Prophets member and all round Bristol badman Datkid, as well as co-production credit from Konchis. Its actually on a free download too, so cop that before they change their minds.

D£dw8: N£xt 2 Nun

For those of you not familiar with the name, D£dw8 is the predictably dope collaboration between Bristol artists, Baileys Brown aka Dee Green and Blanka aka Bewbonik. Those names should be all too familiar with fans of UK rap, thanks to their combined credits over the years, both on the mic and behind the boards. Continue reading “D£dw8: N£xt 2 Nun”
