Another huge track from Baileys Brown as the release date for his solo album draws ever nearer. This time round, the Bristol producer has drafted in his old accomplice, Datkid, as well as his label-mate, Dabbla, with the trio going off in pursuit of that elusive cash money. And once again it’s another stunning visual accomplishment from This & That Media (keep your eyes peeled for plenty of UKHH related cameos too). The album, Still Fresh, is due for release on 26 July on Potent Funk.
Heroin is the latest single to be lifted from the recent Confessions of a Crud Lord album, which Datkid and Leaf Dog released to much acclaim last month. It’s more of that gritty realism which Datty does so well. The video was one that Datkid shot on his visit to New York earlier in the year and it is directed by regular HF contributor, Craig Capone. Confessions of a Crud Lord is out now on all the usual platforms.
This is the latest offering from the forthcoming album from Bristol producer, Baileys Brown. For Reeboks, he has joined forces with Datkid and Stinkin Slumrok, as well as own rap alter ego, Axel Holy. The result is a glitchy, warped beast of a track which only raises the anticipation for the full release. The video was made by Conz. Still Fresh is due for release next month on Potent Funk.
Friday saw the release of what will no doubt be one of the rawest albums of 2019, courtesy of Datkid and Leaf Dog, along with the next video from the project, Cook Book. The video was made by This & That Media. Confessions of a Crudlord is available now on High Focus and you can stream it in full below. Continue reading “Datkid & Leaf Dog: Cook Book + Album Stream”
As we get dangerously close to the release date for the new album from Datkid and Leaf Dog, yesterday saw the next single given life. Following on from the Conway laced, Eyes, this time we see Datty and Leaf bringing in Roc Marciano for the suitably gritty Scheme On. The video was made by Chris Lucas. Pre-orders for Confessions Of A Crud Lord are available now, with the release date set for 17 May on High Focus.
As anticipation grows for the new Datkid album, today saw the release of the second video from the project. Eyes features Griselda heavyweight, Conway, as well as a verse from the album’s sole producer, Leaf Dog. The video was made by This & That Media. Confessions Of A Crudlord is coming soon on High Focus.
Bristol’s finest return with a brand new video, the first to be taken from their upcoming and much-anticipated crew EP. Bad News features raps from Upfront and Datkid, with Badhabitz on production. The Forecast EP is due for release on 15 April, with pre-orders available over on Bandcamp. The video was made by Parallel Media.
Next month on 18 April, as is now customary in Bristol, High Focus will roll into town en masse to celebrate their 9th birthday. Following on from last year’s success, once again they will takeover the SWX nightclub which is situated bang in the middle of town and will bring with them a selection of the finest artists that their ever-increasing roster has to offer.
On the bill this year we have performances from The Four Owls, Jam Baxter, Coops, Onoe Caponoe, Ed Scissor, Strange U, Ronnie Bosh and Pitch 92 as well as their latest signing Datkid, plus loads more MCs and DJs to get the place jumping. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of reaching one of these events in the past, then you will know what to expect and that what to expect is something special.
As is also customary, I have the opportunity for one of you lucky so-and-sos to win free entry for you and a faithful companion on the night itself. All you have to do to win is answer the following question:
