Lyza Jane: Housebound (Stream)

Next up we’ve got the debut album from Lyza Jane, which follows on from a string of singles and an EP with Sniff, which was one of last year’s highlights. I find it hard to pinpoint exactly what genres Lyza’s music fits into, as there are a lot of different influences at work, but hip hop definitely plays a big part in her inspiration. Housebound features appearances from Lee Scott, Black Josh and Danny Lover, with beats from Lee, Sniff and Lyza, who handles the majority of the production herself. You can hear the album in full below, with physicals and merch available via Bandcamp. Stay tuned for an interview with Lyza coming soon. Continue reading “Lyza Jane: Housebound (Stream)”

Danny Lover: Mr. Cool + Album Stream

Fresh music from Blah’s Canadian connect, as Danny Lover releases the first video from his latest album. Mr Cool is a classic example of Danny’s laid-back lyricism and flow, with Morriarchi’s sparse, stripped down production giving it the ideal backdrop. The album, Live From The UK, was made while Danny was visiting his label mates back in 2016. Continue reading “Danny Lover: Mr. Cool + Album Stream”

Danny Lover ft. Trellion: Skinny Pimp

Another second single, this time from across the water, as Danny Lover releases the video for Skinny Pimp. Featuring a nice verse from Trellion and a sweet beat from 19.thou$and, Skinny Pimp is a fine example of why we should all be hyped about The Church Restaurant Official Soundtrack project, which is due for release on 11 August on Blah.

Earthworm Grim x Goosewater: Serotonin Plz Exclusive

I got a message from Lee Scott a few nights ago, asking if I would like an exclusive preview of his new tape only project. He told me it was weird, really weird. I said I was definitely down. He sent me the audio and I pressed play, not really grasping how weird he meant. Continue reading “Earthworm Grim x Goosewater: Serotonin Plz Exclusive”

Danny Lover x Wes Murray: Career Suicide

Cult is a word often associated with Blah, for obvious reasons and Danny Lover is no exception. The Canadian MC has built up a solid stream of releases over the past couple of years and his recent appearance at Boom Bap was treated as one of rap’s rarer spectacles.
