andrew: Sad Dance Songs / I Don’t Know (Stream)

Following on from a couple of glimpses of excellence, I am very happy to see the full arrival of the new album from andrew. Vulnerability in rap is something I have a lot of time for and Sad Dance Songs / I Don’t Know encapsulates that feeling across 12 beautifully constructed songs. The mood is accentuated by the production, which is handled for the most part by Donovan Days and andrew, as well as contributions from Darko The Super and Pagez. Explore the album for yourself below, while downloads are available via Bandcamp.

andrew: Flea Market

andrew continues to gather the pace for his new album, as he blesses our ears with another track. Flea Market is the second song on the album, following the previously released, Tugboat, and it also follows in similar musical footsteps. A nice melodic blend of vocal work from andrew, while Donovan Days’ production establishes the perfect emotional atmosphere, stoking up even more anticipation for the full release. Sad Dance Songs / I Don’t Know is due out on 18 November.

andrew: Tugboat

The perfect accompaniment to your Sunday right here, as andrew brings us the first sample from his upcoming album. Tugboat is a contemplative affair that eases into your ears, thanks to the mellow production from both andrew and Donovan Days, who’s on hand for the majority of the album. It’s a strong start to what promises to be another fine entry into this year’s seemingly endless stream of worthwhile rap releases. Sad Dance Songs / I Don’t Know is due for release on 18 November on Cold Rhymes Records.

Mister & Curt Cataract ft. Hemlock Ernst: Approaching Land

Here comes a video that I’ve been criminally sleeping on, but one that I want to avoid you making the same mistake with, as the full project release date draws nearer.
UK producer, Curt Cataract, teams up with Detroit MC and Passalacqua affiliate, Mister, for Approaching Land. The video above is for the titular track, which also features Hemlock Ernst aka Samuel T Herring (Future Islands) and makes for a fine example of what to expect from the full project, which is due for release on 1 March on Cold Rhymes Records.
