On 2 November, Village Live are going to be releasing the new album from UK producer, Aver; the follow up to his stunning 2017 project, Die Berlin Dateien.
Something From Nothing is the lead single from the album and today I am pleased to be able to bring you the premiere of the brand new video. The track features Nottingham heavyweight, Cappo – the sole feature on the project – and the pair deliver a strong start to what looks set to be another jewel in the Village Live crown.
Dressed For CCTV will be available on all the usual formats, via the Village Live store and there will also be a one-off test press of the vinyl available for sale on 28 October, which you you will be able to find here. The album itself will be available to pre-order from 7pm on 29 October.

Pleased to see the arrival of the new album from Nottingham favourite, Juga-Naut. The Purple Door is produced in its entirety by SonnyJim, which in itself is a testament to Jugz’s popularity amongst fans and peers alike, as Sonny has been pretty vocal in the past about how few UK Mcs he holds in high regard. The album weighs in at 12 tracks and there are features from fellow VVV members, Vandal Savage and Cappo. You can stream the album below and physicals are available via EatGood Records. Was hyped to see this drop into my timeline last night. Apollo Brown is the first producer to be involved with a new series of releases in conjunction with Sydney-based label, Low Key Source. Across the Globe is going to see well-known producers collaborate with MCs and other vocalists from all over the world, including this gem featuring VVV’s finest. There is also a track featuring Jehst and Tyler Daley, which sounds like it will be worth our attention. You can stream Time’s Different below and pre-orders for the EP are available now. Check out the latest video from one of last year’s UK rap high points, as VVV unleash a fresh visual for Polo Zeus. Superbly retro feel to this one too, complete with a nod to Teletext, which is all the more welcome for an 80’s kid like me. Cappo, Juga-Naut and Vandal Savage are all formidable MCs in their own right, but something extra is added when they all get together on a track. Bozo Boyz is available to purchase now over on Bandcamp.

VVV – Cappo, Juga-Naut, Vandal Savage – released their Bozo Boyz album a few weeks ago and it’s as accomplished and enjoyable as you would expect. A solid 17 tracks from the Nottingham trio, with enough quality drums, synths and effortless gold standard lyricism to warrant this ending up on some Best of 2017 lists. You can stream the album below and you can purchase it over on Bandcamp. Read the rest of this entry »

They say good crews come in threes. To be honest, I don’t think anyone says that, but they should do based solely on the fact that VVV exist.
The Nottingham trio, comprised of Cappo, Vandal Savage and Juga-Naut recently released an unsurprisingly strong mixtape, full of flaming nuggets of dope, including this beast, Golden Axe. Great concept for the video too. Read the rest of this entry »

New video for one of Cappo’s joints from last year’s Dramatic Change Of Fortune LP. Featuring fellow Notts MC, Juga-Naut, 15-10 is produced Cappo. The single is available to buy here and you can cop the album here.

Tomorrow sees the arrival of arguably one of the most anticipated albums of recent times, as Strange U release their debut LP on High Focus. For the past few years Kashmere & Dr Zygote have been making brilliantly weird and unique rap, building up something of a cult following in the process. The two are no strangers to the scene, thanks to years of solo work behind the mic for Kashmere and behind the boards for Zygote, but Strange U seems to have given the pair a new lease of energy, resulting in some of the best music they have ever made. This tasty little mix from Nottingham’s finest arrived online yesterday. Released to coincide with the Chinese New Year celebrations, Fortune Cookies features some stone cold classics from the Spaz the World days, all the way up to last year’s A Dramatic Change of Fortune LP. There are also a few exclusives on there, including a joint with YNR head honcho, Jehst.
It’s all mixed by Jazz T so the levels are high and all this is avilable for free download. You can stream the mix above and you can get your free download over at the YNR Bandcamp.
