Juga-Naut: Time & Place (Stream)

New music from arguably one of the most consistent and hard-working artists of his generation, as Juga-Naut returns with what is purported to be his magnum opus. Time & Place is a weighty collection of 20 songs, each one forged in the fiercely independent fire that Jugz has been stoking for years.
DIY artistry at its finest and deeply rooted in his hometown of Nottingham, as demonstrated by the album’s featurs, which include appearances from Cappo, Vandal Savage, Scorzayzee and Liam Bailey. Even the artwork is an original painting by local talent, Emily Catherine, resulting in a true celebration of the East Midlands cultural scene and its interlinked communities, as well as another flawless display of Juga-Naut’s all encompassing abilities in the studio.
Time & Place is available to stream below, as well as plenty of other streaming and physical options offered over on the usual platforms.

Oblique Strategies ft. Confucius MC: Cognoscenti

Another visual instalment from the Oblique Strategies album, as Cappo and Mr Brown deliver their latest video. This time the penmanship levels are increased thanks to a solid feature from Confucius MC who brings his talents to the suitably titled, Cognoscenti. The video was made by Zygote and the album, Raw Pastiche, is out now on We Stay True.

Cappo & Remulak: Slum Village

We need all the reasons to be happy at the moment; after a year of misery and uncertainty, being able to celebrate the good things in life is more important than ever. One of those celebratory moments is the arrival of Village Live’s fifth birthday and their decision to release a special label compilation to mark the occasion. Featuring a stack of brand new material, from some of the artists who have helped to build the label into the success story it is today, Village Live is Five stands as the perfect testament to Doug and Joey’s ongoing legacy and achievements. The label kicked things off back in 2015 with a collaborative single from Remulak and Cappo, so it makes sense that for the new compilation the duo have reunited to deliver more of the magic they stumbled upon many moons ago. You can watch the video for the track above and then head over to the Village Live shop to reserve your vinyl pre-order.

Oblique Strategies (Mr Brown & Cappo): Bar Cardio

They have a whole album en route, one that promises to further solidify Cappo’s reign as the UK’s supreme lyricist, with the first single given life last week. You can hear Bar Cardio above and pre-orders for the vinyl edition are available now. The release date is set for 23 November.

Juga-Naut x SonnyJim: The Purple Door (Stream)

Pleased to see the arrival of the new album from Nottingham favourite, Juga-Naut. The Purple Door is produced in its entirety by SonnyJim, which in itself is a testament to Jugz’s popularity amongst fans and peers alike, as Sonny has been pretty vocal in the past about how few UK Mcs he holds in high regard. The album weighs in at 12 tracks and there are features from fellow VVV members, Vandal Savage and Cappo. You can stream the album below and physicals are available via EatGood Records.
