Bristol keeps the rap flag held high with another strong release from the city’s seemingly endless stash of talent, as Billy Whizz returns with his new solo EP. The DJ and producer has amassed a good circle of collaborators over the years and this is demonstrated to superb effect on Kobra Kai Style. Among the instrumental joys we find thought provoking rap joints, like the Wish Master assisted Moves I Make, and soul-drenched, horn-flecked bangers like Fire/Water, which features Bristol OG, Mylo Stone, and vocalist, Melissa Dawn. More weight is added to the EP’s appeal, thanks to two further appearances by Relly and G00SE. You can hear the full thing for yourself below, with downloads and physicals available via Bandcamp. A new video here from Bristol producer, Billy Whizz, as he starts the ball rolling for the release of his latest EP. On Forbidden Skill, he is joined by fellow Bristol resident and Verbal Highz MC, G00SE, who is put through a particularly rigorous workout by Merv Hembrough aka Mahd Hacka, before G00SE and Bill have a fight that rivals Sugar Ray vs. Thomas Hearns. The Kobra Kai Style EP is out soon on Official Recordings. The video was made by Dhack Media.
New music from Ambush Tactics, as he delivers his latest album. The Roughcut Collective affiliate has handled production throughout, with the exception of one Billy Whizz helmed track. While the production is kept relatively solo, there are a wealth of features on the album from the likes of Twizzy, G00SE, Jinxsta JX and Levi Collins. Dead End Avenue can be heard below and downloads are available over on Bandcamp. The album will be available on all streaming platforms as of 28 November.
Crown Of Thornz is the latest leak from the new Billy Whizz EP, Always Finding Trouble. This time round the Bristol-based producer draws on more local talent from Verbal Highz representative, G00SE and his rapid fire lyricism. The track is accompanied by another solid video from regular collaborator, Chris Lucas. The EP is out today on AFT Raps.
Last Friday saw the arrival of the next video to be taken from Twizzy’s latest album, Old Dog No Tricks. Old Flow features production from Billy Whizz and some great visuals from Chris Lucas (Although this blog would never condone bicycle theft). The album is out now on AFT Raps.
A welcome return for Twizzy, as he releases his latest album, Old Dog No Tricks. It’s been a while since his last release, back in February last year, but pleased to say the Bristol MC is still as on point as ever. It’s a collaboration between Twizzy and his old friend and collaborator, Billy Whizz, with the pair having such a good chemistry that whatever they turn their collective minds to is always going to work. There are plenty of local features too, with G00SE, Sylla B, Ambush Tactics and Jinxsta JX all dropping in with nice verses. The album is available to stream below, with downloads and physicals available over on Bandcamp. Continue reading “Twizzy & Billy Whizz: Old Dog No Tricks (Stream)”
Twizzy is due to return to the fore with a new album very soon and so to get us in the mood, yesterday saw the release of a new video from the project. Report is produced by fellow 3HB member, Billy Whizz and the highly entertaining video was made by Chris Lucas. The album, Old Dog No Tricks, is set for release on 10 September on AFT Raps.
Great joint from the AFT Raps family as Billy Whizz drops the first single from his upcoming EP. A Song For Noname sees the 3HB producer connecting with fellow Bristol-based rap machine and Don’t Flop On-Beat champ, Press1. The track was the result of an out of the blue phone call from one of Press’s old friends and is a comment on the taboos young men fight against when it comes to talking about their feelings. The video was made by This & That Media. The Always Finding Trouble EP will be out soon on AFT Raps.
New video for the title track from Twizzy’s latest solo album, Alarm Bells Ringing. Billy Whizz handled the production for the whole project and the video was shot by Joe Melarkey. You can download the album now over on Bandcamp.
Great new video from Twizzy for a track lifted from his forthcoming album, Alarm Bells Ringing. This The Way follows on from the first leak, Cactus Jack and it’s produced by Billy Whizz. The video was made by Dave Mastaglio from The Bottomless Crates radio show. Pre-orders for the album are available here.
