As you may have noticed, Big Toast and Jack Diggs have recently put their creative minds together to forge a new joint album, Call It On. Although they are both long-term collaborators, this is somehow the first time the duo have put out a release together. Pow! is the third track to be lifted from the project and is produced by Diggs. Call It On is out now on Revorg Records.
TPS representatives Jack Diggs and Big Toast have a new album dropping at the end of the month. Call It On promises to be another boisterous release, with the same level of vitriol and misanthropy that have already earned the two MCs a place in our hearts. Nocturnal is the latest offering from the album, with Diggs on the beat. The video was shot on location, while drunk, in a Munich train yard. Check the Revorg Records site for more info on the album.
New video from the Ill Move Sporadic & Big Toast album which was released last year. Toast decided to head out to the streets and make his own video for The Cult of the Individual, which contains plenty of his takes on the global cesspit we call home; it also happens to be one of my favourites from You Are Not Special. The album is available to buy now over on Bandcamp.
Not content with already putting out an album this year, Big Toast is paving the way for his next full length project. This time he is reuniting with fellow Gatecrasherz member, Jack Diggs, and Rude is our first taster from the album. No more info on the album yet, except that it will be called Call It On. Stay tuned.
Pleased to see the arrival of another video from one of the more enjoyable albums of the year, You Are Not Special. Authenticity sees Big Toast taking deserved shots at everyone from hypocritical songwriter and tax dodger, Gary Barlow to paranoid lunatic and friend of Trump, Alex Jones, all fired over some suitably heavy drums from IMS. The video was shot on location in Amsterdam. You Are Not Special is available to buy now.
Another joint from the IMS and Big Toast album has been given the video treatment. Bumpy Town takes some much deserved shots at the perpetual gentrification of London, which has been swallowing up boroughs and sucking the soul out of them for far too long.
The album has been getting a lot of praise since its official release last week and with good reason. IMS and Toast have found a healthy amount of united scorn for the current state of affairs and have been able to channel that hate into a solid 10 tracks of misanthropic rap, which is the ideal soundtrack for the inevitable nuclear and/or class war that is looming. You Are Not Special is out now on Starch Records.
The new Ill Move Sporadic and Big Toast album is nearly upon us, but to keep the misanthropy at the required levels in the meantime, they have released another track from the project. This time it’s Unspecial, featuring IMS’s regular sparring partner, Joey Menza. The album, You’re Not Special, is released on 28 August on Starch Records. Pre-orders are available here. You can also read my interview with the three of them here. Continue reading “Ill Move Sporadic & Big Toast ft. Joey Menza: Unspecial”
Ill Move Sporadic and Big Toast are already well established and respected entities within the UK hip hop scene, thanks to a number of projects that have emerged from both camps over the past few years. Most recently, IMS joined forces with Tenchoo for the incredible Panic Room EP, while Toast has enjoyed success with his Save Yourself Kill Them All collaboration, alongside Sofa King and also thanks to his part in UK supergroup, Gatecrasherz. Now the three of them have joined forces for You Are Not Special, an album which promises to deliver the best of both their worlds in one tidy and maybe slightly disturbing package. The album is due for release in August, so I had a chat with them to see what we can expect from the album and to find out a little bit more about what makes them tick. Another day and another supergroup, as Revorg Records’ Gatecrasherz unleash their debut LP on the world. The five man crew is comprised of Downstroke, Gee Bag, Oliver Sudden, Jack Diggs and Big Toast, so we know the quality is going to be high and we have already had a couple of tasters, thanks to their lead singles, Say Rah and 2-3 Break. New music from the Revorg Records camp, as Gatecrasherz release their latest video. The crew are set to release their debut album in the not too distant future and judging by the tasters they’ve given us so far, it’s going to be a strong project. More news on that coming soon.
