A lovely cut here from Aver & Move 78, taken from their forthcoming EP. I really am no expert on jazz, I just know what I like and this falls very much into that category. Unsurprisingly really, as Aver has always been one of my favourites from Village Live’s ever-impressive roster. The full EP is available to pre-order on vinyl now, with the shipping date set for 19 April onwards.
Fantastic union of talent here, as The Natural Curriculum’s Aver teams up with self-described Berlin-based dystopian jazz band, Move 78, for two new singles. The group features a trio of exceptional musicians, including Doron Segal, who recently released his own jazz album on Village Live. As well as more traditional jazz themes, the two pieces also embrace the more modern art of sampling, thanks to Aver’s love (and skill) for the discipline. You can stream the two singles below and digital downloads are available on Bandcamp. Continue reading “Aver & Move 78: Housecat / Live From The Village (Stream)”
Village Live continue their recent run of formidable instrumental releases, with the latest album from Aver. Perhaps best known as the head producer of hip hop collective, The Natural Curriculum, Aver made the album while living in Berlin. That explains the German speech samples laced throughout the project, which are backed up with syncopated drum breaks and cuts from his fellow TNC family members. Check out the mini-mix below as well as the first video from the album, Portale. You can download Die Berlin Dateien here. Continue reading “Aver: Portale”
