Another cut from the upcoming reissue of Phat Kat’s Carte Blanche LP. The Detroit MC announced the release back in June, along with an unreleased Dilla-produced track which was lifted from the album. Detroit underground legend and J Dilla favourite, Phat Kat, is reissuing his 2007 Carte Blanche album. Phat Kat said that the decision to reissue was made “because it was put out right before the internet blew up, so it never really got to a lot of listeners. And it was a really good project that slipped through the cracks”.
Along with the reissue, he has also dug up a previously unreleased track for us to savour. It Don’t Get No Liver Than This is produced by Dilla and features fellow Detroit MC, La Peace. In 1996 Kazi and Madlib dropped a gem of an album called Blackmarket Seminar. Oft overlooked at the time and since, the album has now earned a reissue.
