Phat Kat ft. La Peace: It Don’t Get No Liver Than This
Detroit underground legend and J Dilla favourite, Phat Kat, is reissuing his 2007 Carte Blanche album. Phat Kat said that the decision to reissue was made “because it was put out right before the internet blew up, so it never really got to a lot of listeners. And it was a really good project that slipped through the cracks”.
Along with the reissue, he has also dug up a previously unreleased track for us to savour. It Don’t Get No Liver Than This is produced by Dilla and features fellow Detroit MC, La Peace. Kazi & Madlib: To Be Lost
In 1996 Kazi and Madlib dropped a gem of an album called Blackmarket Seminar. Oft overlooked at the time and since, the album has now earned a reissue. This is that Lootpack era goodness and if you don’t believe me, check out To Be Lost. The remastered LP is out now on Below System Records and is available from all the usual spots.
