You can hear one of the tracks below, which features production from DJ Drinks and some cuts from Mr Brown, while the second track features the always on-point, George Fields, on the boards. Pre-orders for the release went live today, which you can find over on Bandcamp. The release date is set for 1 November,

Alecs DeLarge & Ash The Author: Jungle

More boom bap delights from Ash The Author, as he jumps on this tight track with Alecs DeLarge, who has cooked up just the sort of production that Ash thrives on. You can hear the track for yourself below and downloads are available via Bandcamp (who might still have their offer on for a couple more hours.). Jungle is the leads single from a full-length project which is due for release in the summer.

Ill Move Sporadic: Drug Corpse II (Stream)

Fresh out today is the latest release from UK production duo, Ill Move Sporadic, as they return from their hiatus with a follow-up to their 2013 Drug Corpse album. This time round Ben81 and One Boss have enlisted the help of more UK rap talent, including Ash the Author, Gee Bag, Strange Neighbour, Tenchoo and a welcome return from their old friend and collaborator, Joey Menza. Production-wise, you might already know the M.O. – hard, gritty sample-driven beats with basslines the register on the Richter Scale. It’s a fantastic follow-up and also a solid album in its own right, from two producers who have established and consistently nailed a trademark sound. Drug Corpse II can be heard in full below and there are downloads on Bandcamp.

Ash the Author x FTHMLSS: Flowers

Not content with releasing one of the year’s best albums alongside Ded Tebiase, Ash The Author now sees in the final weeks of the decade with another excellent collaboration. Flowers is the name of his latest single and it features some very nice production from Manchester beat-maker, FTHMLSS. I think it’s also the first billy woods reference I’ve heard in UKHH. Shout out to Ash for that one. Flowers is out now on Village Live.

Ded Tebiase & Ash The Author: APEX (Stream)

It’s great to be able to share the full album from Ded Tebiase and Ash The Author with you, having had it in heavy rotation for the past couple of weeks since it found its way into my inbox. If you’re familiar with Tebiase’s 2017 Landspeed LP, then you will no doubt also be familiar with the strength of his creative partnership with Ash, thanks to their initial collab, Yeah.

Ded Tebiase & Ash The Author ft. Evil Ed: Mr Murphy

Mr Murphy is the second single taken from the upcoming album from Ded Tebiase and Ash The Author. Mr Murphy follows on from Transmit, which I premiered on my blog recently and features some typically good assistance from UK turntable vet, Evil Ed. I am very pleased to bring you the premiere of the latest video from Village Live Records. Transmit is the lead single from the label’s forthcoming release, which is a collaborative effort between Ded Tebiase and Ash The Author. Tebiase is no stranger to Village Live, having released his accalaimed solo album, Landspeed, on there back in 2017. One of the many highlights of that album was the track, Yeah, featuring Ash The Author and which brings us nicely back to this new release.

MysDiggi: Tip Of Da Mysberg 3 (Stream)

A welcome return for one of the best loved voices in UK hip hop, as MysDiggi blesses us with the third instalment from his Tip Of Da Mysberg series. Considering Part 2 was given life way back in 2006, this latest chapter is long overdue but it’s not as if the artist FKA Mystro has been resting on his laurels in the interim. There have been ad campaigns for Sainsbury’s, Subway and Mozilla, as well as an EP and an album, plus numerous tours and live performances with the likes of Pete Tong and Smokey Joe & The Kid. That brings us to now and this new release, which should serve as a reminder of just how gifted the man is on the mic. Only three features – Ash the Author, Gee Bag and Miss Baby Sol – leaving the majority of the main stage clear for Mys to work his magic. Production comes from a few notable people, including Twisted Roots, DNA, Logan and K3ith Price. The whole thing is available to stream below and you can grab a download over on Bandcamp.

Ash the Author: Colour Schemes

Ash the Author reunites with Opus Dice for this new joint, following on from last year’s lauded single, Train of Thought. Colour Schemes is officially released on 24 May on Cultured Sounds.
