Armand Hammer: Barbarians / Overseas

A fresh double header from Armand Hammer, as they release a dual video for two tracks from last year’s highly acclaimed Rome album. Barbarians and Overseas contain some of my favourite bars from the year (“New Testament God seeming like a no-show/Cross lowered from an icon to just a logo” anyone?), never mind from the album itself, which is why it’s been good to see the new video being championed by the likes of Earl Sweatshirt, who proclaimed on Twitter that he was spinning it back for a fifth time. The tracks were produced by JPEGMAFIA and August Fanon respectively, and the video was made by Joseph. Rome is out now via Backwoodz Studioz.

Armand Hammer ft. Mach Hommy: Carnies (Willie Green Remix)

Intense remix from Willie Green, as he tackles one of the gems from the recent Armand Hammer album. Carnies features a nice spot from Mach Hommy, as well as some suitably cerebral lyricism from billy woods and ELUCID. You can stream the remix below and the album, Rome, is available now on Backwoodz Studioz. Continue reading “Armand Hammer ft. Mach Hommy: Carnies (Willie Green Remix)”

Armand Hammer: It Was Written

The cerebral musings of billy woods and ELUCID are pretty powerful as separate entities, so when they come together as Armand Hammer, the result is never to be taken lightly. The duo already have two releases under their belt and now they are coming back with a third – ROME. There have been a lot of comparisons made recently about the fall of Rome and the potentially catastrophic direction of America under the leadership of Trump. I’m going to assume the two are linked but will see what enlightenment the full release brings next month. It was Written was produced by August Fanon. ROME is up for pre-order now, with the digital release scheduled for 2 November.
