Cracking animated video from Juga-Naut and Giallo Point, as they continue to drop gems from their new album. Concept Song features some breathtaking visuals from Theorist, upping the levels on the current theme of animated videos surfacing on the UK scene. Back to the Grill Again is out now, including a vinyl edition on Tuff Kong Records.
Queens producer Reckonize Real readies us for his producer album with a new animated video featuring the ever-prolific LA MC, Blu. Bridges & Tunnels looks set to be another success for Reckonize, following on from last year’s Carved From Stone album, which he released with Guilty Simpson. The Detroit legend also turns up on this new project, alongside cats like Junclassic, Mayhem (EMS) and Nowaah The Flood. Pre-orders for the album are available now via Real Deff Music Group, with the release date set for 19 July.
More rugged rhymes as Leaf Dog, BVA and Illinformed hit us with another video from their most recent album, Return to Stoney Island. Reverse Forecast features some excellent animation from Chris Younes. The album is out now on RLD Records.
Overly Fresh is the latest single from Pitch 92’s much lauded 3rd Culture album. This time round he is joined by High Focus label head, Fliptrix, as well as some additional production from Beat Butcha. The video was made by Rakugaki. 3rd Culture is out now on all the usual formats.

Another stellar video from Flying Lotus as he continues to build the hype for his forthcoming album. More sees him teaming up with genre spanning vocalist, Anderson Paak, accompanied by a visually stunning video from Shinichiro Watanabe, who enlists the help of some of Japan’s finest animé artists. Flamagra is due for release on 24 May on Warp.
A strong start to the upcoming album from DJ Vadim and Jman, as they offer up the first single from the project. Heart Attack is a frantic reggae fuelled banger, with the ever-versatile Jman delivering a particularly blistering flow. The track also features Lasai, plus another great animated video from Monsta Animation. Likkle More is released in full on 4 June, with pre-orders available now.
Lunar C just released the final video from his acclaimed Dirtbrain album and it’s another visual triumph for the Bradford MC. Hindsight follows in the footsteps of many great music videos over the years, by going down the claymation route. And very effective it is too. The video itself was made by KillMoney with Designasaur in charge of the animation. The track is produced by HashFinger. Dirtbrain is available now from all the usual platforms.
After a couple of audio leaks from his upcoming Guns album, Quelle Chris returned to the fore today with the first video to be taken from the project. Obamacare is co-produced by frequent collaborator, Chris Keys, who also plays the drums and the exquisite bassline, described by Quelle as “the real star of the song, the real cherry on top, the Vanjie Drag Race exit”. The animated video is another of Quelle’s projects, something you can tell he has a lot of fun making. He said it has a drip of homage for Terry Gilliam (a favourite of mine), but that’s the first person I thought of when I saw it, especially those old Monty Python interludes.
Guns is due for release on 29 March on Mello Music Group.
