Check out the second release from DOOM’s new stack of tracks, which Adult Swim are drip feeding us for the next 15 weeks. This is the finished version of the collab with Jay Electronica, in all its flute-laden glory and also the signal that a new KMD album is en route as well, although I will not be holding my breath. I can’t embed the Adult Swim player, but you can find it <a href="http://https://as-embed-player.adultswim.com/?album=doom&track=11f6e231-962b-4726-81b9-a16149f68ec4” target=”_blank”>here.

MF DOOM has new music coming out. Let’s just let that settle for a second. Yesterday Adult Swim announced they would be releasing one new DOOM track a week, for the next 15 weeks, under the title The Missing Notebook Rhymes. The first track was released yesterday and features a great verse from Duck Down’s finest, Sean Price. It’s P’s anniversary (and his LP release day), so ideal timing really. Negus is a pretty sinister, moody number, so be interesting to see how the rest of the series progresses. Also be good to see if we finally get that Jay Elec collab. Stay tuned.

How’s about a bit of previously unreleased Dangerdoom to start your day with? Both the The Mouse & The Mask album and the Occult Hymn EP are being reissued, along with two unheard tracks, including this one with your favourite MC’s favourite MC, Black Thought. The reissue is coming out on DOOM’s own label METALFACE Records and there will be a vinyl run included. You can pre-order here and you can stream Mad Nice below.

Adult Swim have always been big rap advocates and this year is no different. There’s been the Run the Jewels affiliation, their Mello Music Group giveaways and a string of free singles. The latest of which features a pretty heavy trio of Masta Killa, Method Man and Redman. Therapy is the lead single from Masta Killa’s upcoming album Loyalty is Royalty, which is out soon on Nature Sounds. You can download this track for free over at Adult Swim right now and you can stream it below. Read the rest of this entry »

Check out the great new video for Strange Technology, which is taken from the equally great new album from L’Orange and Mr Lif. Featuring Akrobatik, Gonjasufi and a crazy crowd of post-apocalyptic cartoon characters, the video was directed by Alex Thompson. You can buy the The Life & Death of Scenery LP now via Mello Music Group.

So Adult Swim just casually dropped off the first single from the forthcoming third installment from Run The Jewels. The rumour mill has been putting in work over recent weeks, as people try to guess when the album will actually see the light of day. Well now we are all one step closer to the fact. Have a listen to Talk To Me below and cop a free download over at the Adult Swim site. Read the rest of this entry »

The good people at Adult Swim and Mello Music Group have combined their powers of generosity and are giving away the new project from L’Orange and Mr Lif for free. Entitled The Death of Scenery, the EP focuses on dystopian visions close enough to reality that you might consider tracking down that bunker you’ve always dreamt of.
L’Orange has a habit of finding a sound that fits the MC he’s working with like a glove, as all good producers should and with Lif he has found an ideal creative partner. Features include Akrobatik, Insight and DJ QBert. The EP is available to stream and download here, with an extended version being released on 14 October which you can pre-order here.
