Parallax: The Saga Continues

Golden-era advocate, Parallax, is set to return to the fore with a new album in the coming months and last week saw the arrival of a video from the project. The Saga Continues features joint production from Parallax and Wickstarr, with AboveGround behind the camera. You can buy and stream the track from all the usual spots.

Cult of The Damned: Civilised

There had been rumours circulating that COTD were coming back with new material and then they were confirmed with the announcement that we would get a new video today. And sure enough, I woke up to find Civilised plastered over multiple timelines.
It is definitely full gang, as Barebase, King Grubb, Salar, Bill Shakes, Lee Scott, Black Josh, Milkavelli, Stinkin Slumrok and Sniff all drop verses, with Sam Zircon and Bisk handling production. Suitably grimy aesthetic, further cementing Blah and their various off-shoots as the no fucks given older brother of some of the other UK rap labels. The excellent single take video was made by aboveGround.

Milkavelli: Where’s Olly?

In case you had not heard, Milkavelli released new music last week, in the form of his Cult Member mixtape. There are some really strong tracks on there, including this little beast, Where’s Olly? Produced by Sniff and with another great video from AboveGround, this is Milk at his finest. Cult Member is available to buy now from the DVL GNG store.

Ocean Wisdom: Eye Contact

It’s all Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Microphones in the new video from High Focus favourite, Ocean Wisdom. It was in February last year when Ocean released his debut album, building on the foundation of his million view video for Walkin’, which he clocked up while still unsigned. The ferocity of his double time flows, has made him top boy among a lot of HF’s loyal fans, which is evident every time he sets foot on a stage. Now he’s back with a brand new track, produced by none other than the ever-prolific, Kidkanevil. The video was made by the donny, Aboveground and yes that is Ed Skrein making an appearance.

Mungo’s Hi Fi X Eva Lazarus: Amsterdam

The collaboration between Eva Lazarus and Mungo’s Hi Fi has given three great tracks, including this little number about the freedom that can be discovered after a break-up. Eva and and the donny ABOVEGROUND headed to Amsterdam to give the video extra credence and the result is this visual treat. The Amsterdam EP is available now from iTunes.

Jam Baxter: Mansion 38

Check out the next offering from Jam Baxter’s latest album, which has further established him as one of the nation’s most innovative MCs. And with good reason. It’s always going to be hard to follow an album that was lauded as much as So We Ate Them Whole, but he and Chemo have managed to pull it off. Continue reading “Jam Baxter: Mansion 38”
