Verbz: Pathways (Stream)

Pathways is the latest arrival from Verbz and it’s another win for the Croydon-based MC, as he finds a new home on flourishing label, Group Bracil. Following on from his single producer album, alongside Mr Slipz in 2017, this latest project features a bevy of talented beat-makers, including Morriarchi, Norm Oddity, Chuck Enzo and 2Late. There are also some notable guest spots too from CLBRKS, NuphZed, Bador and BaggE. There’s a heavy jazz feel to the album, with Verbz taking his voice into new territory, while still maintaining the level of lyricism that has made him one of my favourite MCs at work right now. You can listen to Pathways below and limited edition physicals are available on Bandcamp.

Cracker Jon & 2Late ft. Sly Moon, Dubbul O, Smellington Piff & Eric The Red: The Funk Off

The latest leak from Cracker Jon & 2Late’s album found the light of day this week, in the form of The Funk Off. As the name suggests, 2Late drops a funky beat for Cracker & a host of equally pitched MCs, along with Dubbul O, to murder. Nice use of Malice in Wonderland in the visuals too. The album, You Can Take the Cracker Out of Croydon, is out tomorrow and my review will be up within next couple of days.

Cracker Jon & 2Late: Dank

I heard a rumour a while back that Cracker Jon was going to be releasing a project on High Focus, but never heard much more after that. Until last week that is, when HF announced the imminent arrival of an album from Cracker Jon and producer 2Late, who is responsible for one of my favourite tracks on Tin Foil Fronts, among many other dope things.
