Flying Lotus ft. David Lynch: Fire Is Coming

Big things on the horizon for Flying Lotus as details of his sixth studio album finally emerge. The producer and sometime horror director last released a solo effort back in 2014 with his You’re Dead album and it was such a success that fans have been thirsting for more ever since. Now that thirst is set to be quenched with a new full-length project, boasting a suitably diverse range of guest features, spread across a vast array of 27 tracks.
As well as the lead single, which is narrated by the weird and wonderful David Lynch, there will also be contributions from Thundercat, Solange, Denzel Curry, Tierra Whack, Paak, Little Dragon, George Clinton, Toro Y Moi and Shazzbazz Palaces. Fire Is Coming is a quintessentially FlyLo intro to the album, with the video portraying feral kids in some sort of dystopian setting, sitting in silence as an elder (Lynch) narrates a tale for them. Despite Lynch only narrating the video, some of the scenes and effects feel like they could have ripped from his own mind. Flamagra is due for release on Warp on 24 May.
