Pleased to see the birth of yet another new project from Milo, an artist who only seems to be content when he’s in the lab, which is fine by me given the consistent high quality of his material. Following on the not too distant footsteps of his recent Nostrum Grocers collaboration with ELUCID, he now returns with a solo effort with a title that appears to have been picked from a line on the Nostrum album – budding ornithologists are weary of tired analogies. The track names continue in the same vein with excellent titles like the esteemed saboteur reggie baylor hosts an evening at the scallops hotel, aubergine cloak and thinking while eating a handful of almonds. Of the album itself, Milo explains “this album doesn’t have an arc or a point or a moral to preach. it’s a contemporary rhythm and poetry album made by someone who loves the form and enjoys creating what they want to hear in the world”, which is rather beautiful when you think about it. You can stream the full project below and downloads are available now over on Bandcamp, along with some more background info.
