It’s Friday, the sun is shining, Trump is getting the British welcome he deserves and we can finally indulge ourselves in the debut album from Children of Zeus. It has been a very long time coming and any regular visitors to my blog will know the work that the Manchester duo have put in over the years to get to this point. Weighing in at 13 tracks, Travel Light is everything I was anticipating. The MCR family vibe is as strong as ever, with guest spots from LayFullStop, [KSR], Metrodome and DRS, plus further production credits from Juga-Naut, Sebb Bash and Beat Butcha. Their trademark hip hop-soul sound is the most prevalent on the album, but there are elements of reggae and jazz at work too, making Travel Light a highly ambitious album, but one that works incredibly well. You can stream it in full below, with downloads and physicals available via Bandcamp.
