It’s been a while since I posted anything about BROOKZILL, the supergroup of sorts, but more accurately a collective – comprised of Prince Paul, Ladybug Mecca, Rodrigo Brandão and Don Newkirk. Now though they have released a new video for their 2016 track, Macumba 3000 and it’s a visual delight.
The quartet have gone with a stop-motion animation style video, which features all of them weaving through palms and ferns, as the contagious rhythm of Macumba pulses away. The name of the track is taken from a Portugese word used in Brazil, which means both a musical instrument and a form of witchcraft. BROOKZILL’s album, Throwback to the Future, is available now on Tommy Boy Entertainment.
