Haunting sounds in the new video from Cryptochrome. If you’re not familiar with the name, you may recognise Anik the MC, as he was once part of German rap group Dark Circle. Now located in Iceland, he formed Cryptochrome with his wife Una on vocals and dark Circle producer Son taking care of the beats.
They have an album out soon and have been releasing a video each month from the project. Anik described their style as ‘psychedelic electro soul rap’, which is a fair description. I can hear echoes of everything from Doomtree to Portishead. More news on the album soon.
