I’ve got a lot of time for this new EP from London MC, THEME. As a debut release, he seems to have ticked all the right boxes, in terms of guest production and verses, but without distracting from the main star of the show: THEME and his bars.
Picking up the mic with the right balance of emotion, humour and drama, THEME manages to pack a lot of punches into these seven tracks. Highlights for me include the opening track “Drastic Blows”, one of two IMS bangers and the final track “Block Politics”, which features Beat Butcha on the boards and some heavy guest verses from Melanin 9, Reveal and Tony D. “Toys Get Smoked” is available now on free download.
